I'm a terry fan, too!!!
But fitted nappies are easier to get on quickly when they hit the won't-lie-still toddler stage.

juuule · 24/01/2008 19:27

No they're not lljkk. Not once you get used to putting them on.

babyjjbaby · 24/01/2008 19:30

i don't even pin mine i find the wrap keeps them in place any good folds u know of pass them on please

i liked them too and will happily use them again, but do prefer totsbots

tassisssss · 24/01/2008 19:31

oh, and they dry ridiculously quickly compared to tots

lljkk · 24/01/2008 19:39

Er, Juule: I've had 3 already in cloth from birth to potty (+). Maybe my motor skills are shite but I never mastered fastening a terry (snugly, leak-proof) on a toddler who insists on standing up the whole way thru nappy changes.
But I have acquired the skill of pinning a large child down on the floor with one leg, in my sleep if necessary.

juuule · 24/01/2008 20:35

Perhaps my toddlers were just a bit more compliant than yours or....perhaps I just had the knack

cazzybabs · 24/01/2008 20:37

i love then too - cheap, quick to dry and easyu to use!

Nappyzone · 24/01/2008 20:38

my efforts fall of as he crawls away

coby · 24/01/2008 20:39

Well, I love terry squares too (always have some in my collection) but not the mothercare ones. Thought everyone used them as burping cloths becasue they are so thin. I use Little Ewe - I buy them unbleached then get when they go white on the line in the sun .

A nappy consultation I did yesterday ended up with the new mummy choosing to use Harringtons flat nappies (Although she was tempted by the bumgenius for a little while ). You are not alone

coby · 24/01/2008 20:40

nappyzone snap! I overcame that by using parcel tape around the middle and a pair of braces .....hmm...nappy braces... might be a seller

fingerwoman · 24/01/2008 20:41

no, we love them too. though I will admit that we have a vast array of shaped and pocket nappies that we also love

have just popped a pic of ds2 wearing one on my profile :D

Indith · 24/01/2008 20:43

I adore terries!

Started with tots fluffles but he grew out of the size ones so quickly and I decided I couldn't be bothered spending all the money. I have a mixture of Little Ewes, bright bots, nappy nation bamboos and mothercare. All have their differences and all good for different things.

you just don't anything else quite so flexible, leak proof, fast drying, slimmer (bamboo ones are ace) or cheaper!

babyjjbaby · 24/01/2008 20:44

coby thats why i like them lol cos they are thin thye ain't bulky and they are sqidgey inbetween his legs

coby · 24/01/2008 21:08

indith what are the nappy nation bamboo terries like? I'm looking for some decent quality ones. Mine have all frayed at the edges (badly) and lost their shape (not sure what make they are - got them from Peachy Cheeks).

babyjj - like the squidgy between his legs comment

moljam · 24/01/2008 21:13

i love them and much preffered them until fairly recently-until ds just wouldnt keep still long enough(and i was quick!).they are still my emergency nappies though!

Indith · 24/01/2008 21:43

Coby I really like them, they are super slim, soft and are nice and square. They curl a tiny little bit at the edges but that is all. A friend has the babeco (?) ones that she got from Twinkle on the web. They do a bigger size and are a bit thicker, they feel a bit softer too but they were supposed to shrink down a bit with the first couple of washes which they have not done very well and so are not very square.

babyjjbaby · 24/01/2008 22:14

has anyone got a tots bot fluffle for sale

Thanks indith I'll bear them in mind then when I am next able to go nappy shopping . FWIW I have some Babeco cotton squares which are fab. I saw their bamboo ones too but was a bit suspicious about how they would shrink to become exactly square . My lack of folding skills require me to have perfectly square ones to start with or all hope is lost

pukkapatch · 24/01/2008 22:17

i love my terry squares. bought a load for child who is now almost 11.
washed and bleached they are now used as kichen tea towesl. said child is using them at the moment to mop up blood from his nose.
terry squares are the best things in the world. used them for absolutley everything imaginable, and they just wash up clean again.

coby · 24/01/2008 22:17

babyjj - just saw some on the for sale boards about 20 mins ago - Size 2 popper. She wanted to swap for Kushies Size 2 but worth a try anyway I should think.

coby · 24/01/2008 22:19

babyjjbaby · 24/01/2008 22:19
