What is wrong with my baby?

I have a six month old daughter who is miserable all the time. She will fuss or cry every waking minute of every day. I feel like I’m fully out of the tiny baby stage now and have a handle on things so can confidently say there should be no reason for her to cry (she’s fed, changed, winded, slept enough, teething gel on, sometimes having had calpol) and she can be in my arms crying.

She’s DC3 and I can recall by now being able to leave them on their play mat with some toys / under the baby gym thing for a while. But I can’t. She won’t be put down for more than a minute or two. And some days not at all. She cries as soon as she’s put down.

She doesn’t have any real symptoms of anything. Not a sicky baby, burps an appropriate amount, poos an appropriate amount, no weight gain issues, no rashes to suggest any allergies. The only thing I can think of is that she produces a crazy amount of very very smelly farts.

I’ve finally got a GP appointment coming up tomorrow but have no idea what to tell him.

Am I missing something? Does anyone have any words of wisdom or suggestions or experience?

(Shes EBF.)

Silent reflux? Dairy/gluten intolerance causing digestive issues? Clingy baby-itis?
Hope you find some answers. x

Mine was like this, ebf too, I had her tongue tie divided. She was a different baby afterwards; it turns out having mouth tension can make you really miserable!

my first was a very upset, clingy baby too but she was easier/happier by six months. She became happier as she was able to do more. And loved solids (was EBF too). Even then, I could never leave her for long but she would play on the floor with me beside her/near her.

Have you started solids?

I cut out lactose quite early on and I was sure it made a difference but I suspect we just went from really fucking miserable to just regular miserable. I did consider cows milk allergy, I google it all the time but she never seems to have any of the symptoms.

Interesting about tongue tie. I thought she might have when she was a newborn because she struggled to feed and had a crazy amount of wind. But I dismissed it because she was gaining weight.

I spoke to the HV when she was tiny who just sort of looked at me blankly. And family always say helpful things like “yeah she’s a girl, girls are like that!” (DC1&2 are boys). But I just can’t believe this is it.

I'd be inclined to say reflux too. My dd had it and it improved dramatically when solids were introduced. She cried pretty much non stop from 5 weeks to six months. It was horrific.
