Age for quilt?

My 10 month old currently sleeps in a sleeping bag. However, as winter is coming I'd like to get her a quilt to try and keep her warmer (especially with the price increase in fuel!). The NHS guidance recommends 18 months based on the lullaby trust...however, the lullaby trust recommend 12months plus.

Can anyone offer any guidance or experience please?

Will the sleeping bag not be sufficient?
You can increase clothing to make her warmer and she can't kick the sleeping bag off like she could with a duvet/quilt

Normally a lightweight quilt/duvet would be ok from 1 year

I for a duvet for mine age 12 months but mine couldn't put duvet back on when kicking it off etc. so we did double pjs for a while!

Just use a higher tog sleeping bag and add a long sleeved vest under her sleeps until and she will be fine.

My toddler just kicks the duvet off all the time. I'd have kept him in a sleeping bag for longer if he'd had tolerated it.

If you're worried about warmth then I'd just increase the layers they're wearing in the sleeping bag or get a higher tog rating

I plan on keeping my 16 month old in a sleeping bag throughout winter. She moves around way too much to even think about a duvet!
She had a 2.5 tog throughout last winter, which with a vest and sleep suit, was warm enough. You can go up to 3.5 tog if the room goes below 16 I think.

We waited till she moved to a bed at 3. I think sleeping bags are very warm and stay on.

My 17 month old is still in a sleeping bag, he moves around so much - literally moves from one end of the cot to the other several times a night. I’m planning on keeping him in a sleeping bag until he outgrows the biggest size available!

I think the sleeping bags are cosier than a duvets because they’re enclosed. You could try fleecy long sleeved pyjamas too.

My 3.5 year old is still in a sleeping bag!

My ds was in a sleeping bag until he was 2½ years old.

We’ve just this week given a duvet to DT1. DT2 still has a sleeping bag. DTs are 28 months.

Quilt once they in bed as it can fall off.
Zip up all in one fleece pjs good for keeping warm and allowing movement.

i just moved my 18 month old into a 2.5 tog sleep back with legs so she’s has more freedom to move

she wears a long sleeved vest under it

if it gets super cold I’d probably put a sleep suit on and the bag maybe

she still moved round the cot 360 to through the night so she just throws blankets off anyway

Sorry for the delay on replying, but thank you all for your advice. I've since bought her a sleep suit with arms and she's been sleeping much better - she doesn't seem to be waking up with cold arms anymore which is great.
