Leaky nappies (boy)

Does anyone have any recommendations for a heavy wetting boy? DS is 2 months and 6.5kg and keeps peeing through his nappies.

I’ve done the usual of making sure his penis is pointing down and the leg cuffs are pulled out but at least once a day he’ll leak through onto his clothes.

He’s in Tesco size 3 which we’ve used with DD without a problem but does anyone have any recommendations for something more absorbent at the front?

Following with interest as have same problem with DGS.

FoolishMortals · 20/09/2022 10:32

We had this problem. We tried a wide variety of nappies and the only ones which done their job were Pampers.

TheGirlWhoLived · 20/09/2022 10:41

I’ve used pampers all the way through with ds1 (dc3)

As pp said, only Pampers (unfortunately!) seem to solve this problem which we also had with DS.

LemonSwan · 20/09/2022 10:44

Specifically Pampers baby dry. I think it starts at size 3. Try the bigger size too as sometimes when we had these problems they were too small.

Inthesky42 · 20/09/2022 10:46

Tesco nappies were the worst we ever tried with my son, sainsburys were a good and cheaper alternative to pampers but only pampers did the job overnight

FlounderingFruitcake · 20/09/2022 10:51

Another vote for pampers. I rate Active Fit, especially if he’s started rolling, over baby dry though!

Having the same problem. DS leaks at least once every night. Switched to pampers pull ups and it's even worse! I make sure it's pointing down, leg bits pulled out etc but still leaks. He leaked at 12am and then again 7am this morning!!

I hate nappy pants, more prone to overnight leaks since you can’t ensure a good fit by tightening the tabs and you have to do a full bottom half strip including shoes for daytime changes. I honestly don’t understand why anyone buys them unless they’re training a toddler and it’s hoped they will make it to the loo!

cupcakesandglitter · 20/09/2022 11:23

@FlounderingFruitcake ah that's interesting!! I was recommended to try them by friends. Had some left over in his size from my toddler (they're only a size apart) so started trying them as a last resort. But they're worse 😂 I never had this problem with my daughter!!

FlounderingFruitcake · 20/09/2022 11:35

@cupcakesandglitter They do seem really popular here and they really weren’t a thing outside of potty training when I had my now 5YO in the US so I wonder if it’s a British thing? I did think I was missing something because I just don’t get it but then younger DC’s nursery (in the UK) said no nappy pants so maybe I’m not crazy ha!

OP sorry to derail your thread there. Try taped pampers would be my advice!

SamanthaVimes · 20/09/2022 11:48

Interesting everyone is saying pampers, we had them before he went up a size and found them even worse! Maybe the bigger size is better though as the ones we had were so tiny, I’ll give them another go.

Using Aldi Mamia dry fast Size 3 (yellow pack) and they are the best for us so far (but never tried pampers as they just seems like wast of money).

snowflake29 · 20/09/2022 14:47

Pampers were the only ones that worked for our boy too! We also had great success with nappy pants once he was crawling onwards, never had a leak from them!

ChiefPearlClutcher · 20/09/2022 14:47

Size up

sunshine423 · 20/09/2022 22:27

Sainsburys nappies have worked really well for my baby boy. He rarely leaks and they're reasonably priced.

Captain1822 · 20/09/2022 22:37

We had the same issue with DS (3 months) but funnily enough it was the pampers we couldn’t get along with! Leaked all the time, regardless of size.
Another upvote for the mamia nappies (yellow pack), they are absolutely brill and I wouldn’t use any others now.
Someone also bought us some of the Lidl ones and they were terrible, held no wee at all!

ChloMorgs1 · 21/09/2022 08:38

Aldi mamia (yellow pack) and make sure that it's pointing down. DH would always change DS and it would and he would just pee out the top of his nappy.
