Infant bouncing solution for long-haul flight

My 8-month old is totally dependent on bouncing on our gym/yoga ball to get to sleep. We are trying to wean him off it and use other methods but still no results. He is a high needs baby so basically any change on him is veey difficult.
Next month I will be taking a flight with my baby, and I'm dreading not being able to have the ball for the duration.
Would anyone have any creative ideas about what could be used as a substitute gym ball during a flight? Ideally something like a sprung cushion we could put on the chair to mimic the ball's bounce.
Help please!

Would he go in a sling and you could bounce up and down? Mine likes us to kind of bob side to side with him in the sling. Works well on train journeys as I stand in the aisle to bounce but can stand by my chair if people need to get past.

Football? Put it on your lap and sit him on top. One of those cheap really light ones because they're very bouncy.

My baby also likes to be bounced to sleep but also accepts squats while in a baby carrier. Start testing it out now, it really is a workout so you'll need to build up some muscle beforehand 😅

Punch balloon? Blow it up once on-board. amzn.eu/d/hU4zV5o
Or a balloon ball, you can deflate & reinflate them amzn.eu/d/bTT1kNq

You really can’t bounce up and down on your seat. It will be hideous for those around you! Try him in a sling, hope the white noise of the plane is soothing and accept that worst case he’s not going to sleep.

I think you'll have to go cold turkey on the flight. I flew my baby four times when he was eight months; for one flight we only had to be sat down for take-off and landing, so I could have walked around with him; but the air hostesses weren't madly keen on it. For the other three, there were much longer periods of needing to be sat down with the seatbelt around him.

A sling will be okay when the seatbelt sign is off but only BA were happy with me using one when sat down; and it had to be unclipped at the top.

I can't imagine the blow-up things would fit; unless you've bought baby a seat and are travelling with someone else, so you've got the whole row to yourself.

I'd go for distractions - toys that stick to the window, and pay for the window seat; tablet if he'll watch programs, new toys that don't make noises - and accept that if the white noise of the plane works, he'll sleep; but if it doesn't, he'll need to nap in the airport.

It's not as bad as it sounds; but I'd highly recommend not carrying loads of stuff to look after; and being open to it being different but trusting you'll find your way. Travelling with him has got loads easier since I managed those!

I’d have thought the vibrations of the flight would do the trick? You really can’t sit in an airplane seat bouncing up and down

Haha sorry OP but I am just having visions of the person behinds pathetic bread roll and cup bouncing up and down off the table and rolling away down the plane 🤣

@Meymey your flight has been and gone, did you pop back onto your old thread to update?

Might be nice to say what worked in case others find the info useful?

Hello! I have delayed my flight because of my baby sleeping problems😂 My flight is in march and I'll update in that time for sure.
