Car sickness in 14 month old - tips?

Hello!
My 14 month old has suddenly started to become car sick - she has never loved car journeys, but over the last few weeks, she has been sick every time we have done a journey over 20-30 mins.
Just wondered if anyone else had encountered this and if they had any tips? Also - did anyone else have a LO who did this and then it improved when they moved front facing? Obviously our LO is still rear-facing currently but I live in hope it might get better when she is able to front face 🤞

I also vomit if rear facing. We turned ours round as soon as she met the weight limit for this reason. Around 1, if I recall.

Our second child was like this. Roll of bin bags, spare clothes, washing bowl and cover as much as you with towels before you set off. Grim had years of it and should have given her travel sickness medication sooner.

oh and most dangerous time for a vomit was after a sleep . Try to keep dc awake if at all possible.

Face forward definitely and if at all possible able to see where she's going.

I'm horribly travel sick if I can't see out, and my youngest child was too until he was old enough to see where he was going and to understand he needed to look.

Strangely he was always worse if he was hungry.

It's miserable and I sympathise.

Forward facing as soon as possible and either some slightly open windows for air, or if you have rear air vents, they should be directed to gently blow towards the face.

dC1 was car sick at this age, but mostly longer journeys. Cutting out snacks before and during the journey helped. And she grew out of it. We kept ours rear facing for as long as possible, but I think once she was in the higher up rear facing (and could see out more easily) it got better.

DS was exactly the same except he loved the car but it also came on suddenly and unfortunately nothing really worked except turning him. Although we did have some initial success with some medication from the pharmacy so it might be worth chatting to them first.

Sending sympathy though as it's a nightmare.

Do you give her the phone or iPad to keep her entertained? Or books? Ideally put kids music / songs.
Front facing can really make a difference
Open the window a few cm
No milk before trip
