Are crafty pods any good?

I’m looking at pop up craft pods to help contain the mess from painting etc with DD. Has anyone used them? Are they worth it?
DD is 2 and we’ve recently had DS so I was thinking about getting the large one for when he’s old enough they can both be in there

Hi.

Did you ever get one of these? We're looking for something to use for "air time" for our newborn twins, so they can kick their legs in the air while naked and we can all be protected from any "mess". We can use a tessellation of disposable changing station pads but it's not very economic/environmentally friendly.

Thanks, Steve.

You what? You don't need a tent to put newborns in. Or plastic sheeting. They can go on a towel. Poo, pee, sick all wash off. You will not be protected from any "mess" for long with twins. Washable changing mats are also your friend.

As for painting in a play tent, erm small problem when they think it's fun to run out. And then you've got to clean the inside of a tent as well as your house.

Thanks!

A bit of context: one of ours did a truly explosive poo while changing last night (/morning) which reached the far recesses of my wife's mouth (as well as the nursing chair, carpets etc.) so...let's just say we don't exactly trust the physics involved with our two! ;-)

Btw. I don't think the Crafty Pods are "tents" as such; more like a foldable paddling pool with high sides. It feels like it would save both effort and water having something which can just be wiped down after. No?

Steve.

have you considered a playpen? Very useful to have somewhere safe to pop baby into, for a short while, while you attend to something. And to safely store toys. Or even for baby to play in. I get that they are somewhat out of fashion, but I found it very useful at times when you just have to put child down safely, away from risk of them putting something in their mouths, or getting into mischief when your back is turned.

You don't need a product. Newborns are messy, it probably won't happen again, just use a towel or muslin.

Tuff trays. With a stand. Can use without a stand for tiny ones and with the stand for bigger kids. Ideal for sand water, painting and giving airtime to twins

I use a crafty pod with the messy mat for indoor messy play it's worth it to contain sand, paint, water etc. I've used it in the garden for twins who rolled I wouldn't use it for naked kicking..

I did get one. It’s pretty good for painting / sand play. It’s saved my floor from some “creative” messes.
I’m not sure how good it would be for newborn nappy free time. You might be better off getting a plastic sheet / table cloth to go under them, I’m sure that would be cheaper!
