the last few days my 3 year old hasnt been himself he started off with a temperature and has since been tetchy and not his usual self.Normally he is very active but he just seems to be alot more tireder then usual and falling asleep alot easier in the car and laying in in the mornings.Ive been in hospital the last few days and since ive come home ive noticed that he seems alot bigger his legs seem longer and a different shape and to me he seems alot heavier although dh hasnt really noticed. Could this be a growth spurt and could the temperature (has now subsided) and the tetchyness and tiredness a symptom of that. Its almost like hes teething but im sure hes got all his teeth by now.

I would guess mild virus + growth spirt.

Ds (3.3) seems to have had similar virus.

Yes, 3 yos do have growth spurts, but it tends (ime) to mean they just eat more and get tired more.

I posted about this the other day re dd1 (tired+, hungry+++). She has just turned 4.

The general consensus was growth spurt

my DS has a growth spurt every 6 months! He eats like he is hollow and sleeps loads more than usual (he can go to sleep at 6pm and not wake til 8am) - he is 5 now so I'm used to it and just let him eat more/sleep more.

Hope he feels "normal" soon
