Calpol sepositories

Hi there,
A couple months back it was recommended to me on here to request for calpol sepositories to use for my son who is a medicine refuser.
It has honestly been an absolute game changer! My son will take calpol if he's a bit unwell but as soon as a temp hits he refuses anything, trust me I've tried every singe trick in the book!
Anyway son peaked a temp tonight, obviously refused all medicine and appeared really unwel. Luckily I had some left in from last time and within an hour his temp was gone and he started to improve. I can't put into words how glad I am I had some in otherwise we would've ended up in a and e!
Anyway.... when I asked for the the doctor was very reluctant and made a point of saying he's never prescribed them before. They are quite expensive to buy OOTC and I really want them on a repeat perscription if possible. Does anyone have any experience in having these prescribed in the UK?
It was so heavily recommended to me so hoping someone might be able to tell me if they will repeat them?

DD cant take Calpol due to the taste (we have tried numerous brands with different flavours and they all make her vomit).
Spoke to the GP and he prescribed Paracetamol suppositories which we can get on repeat as and when it is needed.
Calpol is just Paracetamol anyway so not sure why it would be an issue.
But it is an absolute game changer. Makes medicating her so much easier and less messy!

Yes we have the same issue and paracetamol suppositories are absolutely game changing. We got some prescribed when my daughter had covid with a raging temperature. However, they made it very clear that this would be a one-off prescription. They said I'd have to buy them at a pharmacy next time and gave a long explanation of how much better it would be if we used calpol (as you know, it's not always that simple!). The reason the NHS is very reluctant to prescribe them is because they're insanely expensive. They cost us about £22 for 10 from the pharmacy. When you compare the cost of calpol, that's extraordinary. Nevertheless, the price is worth it for us...
