Chipped teeth - feel terrible

15mo DS tripped on thin air this morning and nutted the floor. His two front teeth are chipped quite badly - quite a bit missing from both.

I phoned the dentist who advised nothing would be done for a "1 year old" so soft foods and calpol for a week.

I'm feeling like a terrible mother! And is there really nothing to be done? I'm worried about eating and speech development in particular.

Does anyone have any reassurance for me please?!

I feel you, my DS2 crawled over his own hands when he was 6 months and face planted on the tile floor chipping both his front teeth as well!

He's now 8, his baby teeth felt out when they were supposed to and now his adult teeth have come in fine behind them.

He had minor speech issues but that was caused by his APD rather than his chipped teeth.

I know how it feels but he'll be ok (and so will you, please don't feel guilty!)

My son did this and I was initially gutted! He'd only just finished growing them and they were big ones, lots of sleepless nights 😆 The teeth got bumped a few more times and then wore down to tiny stumps and then had to have those removed aged 4. He has a little lisp and a cute look without teeth there, I can't imagine him any other way! I got used to it very quickly.
