Antibacterial things for baby hands

Hi there my DS is 4 months and we started taking him on days out he is touching everywhere and putting his hands in his mouth so wondering if there's anything I can buy to keep his hands sanitised like wipes or sanitiser that's suitable for babies. I've been wiping his hands with the water wipes when out but think I may need something stronger ready for when he's eating at 6 months. Thankyou.

Like Michael Jackson did?

Germs are good, babies don’t need hand sanitiser

Just get normal wet wipes now at 4 months, no need for water wipes.

And honestly you don't want to antibac his hands constantly, abit of dirt will build his immune system!

You'd rather he was putting hand sanitiser chemicals in his mouth rather than dirt? Dirt builds the immune system, which is why kids that grow up on farms are healthier.

Hi, I use this. Very easy and quick to use.

Normal soap and water, wet wipes. No need for anything else.

LegoFiends · 07/09/2022 18:11

Just wash his hands with soap when you get home.

I've never used anything other than normal baby wipes.

Thankyou I'm a ftm so Im not sure about allot of things still. I'll use wipes if hands are visibly dirty but won't use sanitiser.

Milton do a little foam sanitiser for babies over 3 months. Feels gentler than regular sanitiser. I use it on my 10 month old occasionally, like if we're out and she's about to eat. Otherwise I just use a wet wipe. I think that's completely reasonable, just like I get my 5yo to wash hands before meals. I realise babies do need to encounter germs to build their immune system but I think that happens enough from crawling around, putting things in their mouth and generally being a baby, I'd rather not go out of my way to let them eat with mud on their hands!
