Ideas for my fussy eater

She is 5. I am struggling to think of things to give her for evening meals and looking for ideas please. The only carb she likes is bread so she’ll eat sandwiches, pizza, she loves French bread and butter. She won’t eat any form of potatoes except chips. She has gone off pasta. She doesn’t like meat at all except sausages. She likes fruit, salad, cheese, eggs but not the yolk. Her diet is very repetitive, i always try to get her to eat what we’re having but with some of her safe foods alongside. She’ll try a tiny bit but then say she doesn’t like it and just eat the stuff she likes.

She doesn’t like rice, noodles, wraps either so the carbs are really a problem! And protein.

What about soup or stews?

You could add lentils or chickpeas or butter beans for protein and carbs

What about making food with breadcrumbs in?

Also when my mum started giving my wee boy soups (which I hadn't even thought of!) She used to put little pieces of bread into the soup and stir it in so it's nice and soggy

My son is not a fussy Eater but I make a lot of recipes from the one and only baby weaning book I bought and it's by Annabel karmel. I make the recipes for him even now he is 3 and actually both my and my husband like them too.
You say she only really eats sausages..well, a lot of the recipes are kind of sausage like they are more balls but you could just shape to more sausage like. Chicken and apple balls for example. Her meatballs are great too. Lots of the recipes have grated apple or pear and carrots so I think it makes them sweeter but also breaks up the meaty taste.
I can send you some recipes if you are interested?

She did used to eat a lentil soup with macaroni in when she was very little but I haven’t made that in a while. Thanks for reminding me! Yes please those sweet meatballs sound worth a try @Hungrycaterpillarsmummy I might have that book I’ll see if I can dig it out but if you can send me any recipes that would be great. Thanks so much for your replies.

Will she eat breaded chicken? U can either make your own or buy fresh breaded chicken from supermarkets? What about sweet corn, tuna? Could you try roast potatoes in the shape of chilps? Bolognaise? You can hide veg in the sauce ? Same with gravy. Also fruit smoothies and sneak veg in. A multi vitamin. Keep putting bits she's not keen on out with her food as one day it might work!!

French toast? If she likes bread serving something for dipping might help branch her out, like soup or hummus. With my fussy eater I make frittata with safe things at one end and stuff we want in it at the other and just see if they are will to venture to our side. Pizza gives you a lot if scope to test different toppings in a similar way.
