It's currently 5.40am, my 9 month old baby has been up since 3.50 am...

If I put her in her bed she instantly stands and cries...in my bed she SCREAMS. She's had milk, nurofen and a nappy change. She's ok sat on my knee...but awake!

I'm aware it's a phase and teeth 5 and 6 are coming in (hence nurofen), but we were up 2.5 hours the other night...I'm on my own with her, I have pavers coming at 8am...dog needs walking. I'm finding myself getting angry at her - I know its because we are all tired. Plus I know because she's been up that she's going to be a right moody madame during the day. This latest phase, when shes awake needs to be glued to me, then down to play instantly, then back on me instantly.

She got her first teeth mid-July , she had about a weeks break before the next 2 started seriously, they came through and the next 2 are nearly here...they are causing a lot of agrovation during the day as well as her poor ears are constantly being pulled, I'm using anbesol and can't really give calpol as it upsets her belly and causes instant nappy rash.

Please tell me this phase doesn't last long.

You poor thing. It is awful. And no, it doesn't last long, it just seems like it does at the time.

I think the first teeth are the worst, but they get used to the ache. Our experience was all 8 incisors coming in within 2 months (not a lot of sleep was had!). This was between months 6-8, so he was still having milk overnight and that didn't help things. We night weaned at the end of this period because he was preciously sleeping through, and it helped massively.

He's now 13 months and his 3rd molar is half through. He occasionally wakes at 9 or 10 for some calpol, but for the most part does really well overnight despite the teeth

(btw molars take about 2 months each to totally break theough the gum)
