Crying at nursery door a year later...

DD(2) has been in nursery for a year. We love it, she is always so happy when she is collected, and I have been reassured within a few minutes of arrival she is totally happy and playing.

But we STILL have uncontrollable sobs at the door 75% of the time.

She goes through stages of being happy and running in and waving me goodbye, and then we are back to clinging and screaming.

She now refuses to walk the 2 minutes from the bus to the nursery door and i end up carrying her while she clings to me.

She is almost 26 months, what can I do (if anything?). We stick to the same routine every single morning and talk about nursery but as soon we we get off the bus, she starts.

The 25% when she doesn’t Cry - any different staff there?

Up until she was 7, my sister screamed the house down when my mum left us with the nanny, Every Single Morning. Six years straight. She adored the nanny and was always completely fine 3min after mum left.

Asked now, she has literally no idea why she did it. It traumatised my mum.

They have the same woman to answer the door and take them to their rooms - when she's happy she runs in and gives her a cuddle, when she's upset she still reaches over to be taken but screams as she does it! (Right in the poor womans ear!)

My ds was like this till he started school ..

I found once i was actually content dropping him off knowing he was happier.. it was when you dropped them indoors ( open plan ) he had often stopped before i got out the door..
