How much freedom does your 12 year old have and what's their bedtime?

Interested to know where we fall!

Mine goes to bed at 9pm, which I feel is early but I need an hour of quiet. She doesn't sleep til later but reads in her room.

She's allowed to walk into town (very safe walk with ppl around) and meet friends and walk home or go to the local park or cafe. She must have a charger phone. Walks to and from school.

Does not yet take public transport.

Can stay home alone for 2-3 hours.

Interested for the comparisons!

Similar really. My DD is about to go into y8, and basically can do the same as your child. Bedtime maybe 9.30, rather than 9, but she tends to disappear up to bed to read before then anyway.

Mine goes to bed at 9.30 but the rest is very similar. She hates being at home alone so we're currently trying to work on that.

Wr have a 11 year old about to go into year 8. He doesn’t have a bed time, goes to bed when he’s tired but has always loved sleep so usually this is about 9:30.
Hes allowed out with friends into town and I can and do leave him in the day time for 3 hours.

Very similar here with my 12 year old. Bed 9pm but in reality she's not asleep until 9:30 at the earliest as there's usually lots of faffing around. No phone in her room at bedtime.

We tend to leave her for up to three hours at a time (not in the evening though) although I do think she'd be happy to be left longer and I probably would if I needed to.

She doesn't use public transport but will hang around the local area with friends and keep in touch with me whilst she's out.

DD1 (12) goes to bed at 9.30, listens to a bedtime story, and then faffs about for a while to go to sleep. Needs me to sit in the room.
Parental controls on phone, which goes off at 9.30pm until 7.45am.
Travels by public transport to and from school.
Goes to the park and local shops with friends.
Goes between being fine to be home alone for ages to refusing to be alone for even a minute; it depends on the day.

Thanks all, it's useful to see we're fairly average as I wondered if I was too strict/bed too early.
