So should i start potty training?

For a week now DD has been taking her nappy off after every wee. Even at night she will bang on her bedroom door shouting 'i wee/i doo' and when you go in she is naked and holding fresh nappy. Have tried to fight her on this issue especially when i found poo all over her floor the other mornig but its not working! We have the potty out every day but she appears scared to use it and will only sit on it when SHE wants and tends to run for it when she is already weeing.

Im not fussed about potty training TBH (DS was 3 before he was dry) BUT is she telling me to stop being lazy and sort it???

How is the best way to go about it?
Do i put her in nappies and let her use potty or do i put pants on and put on potty regularly???

Have potty trained DS and 2 childminded girls but i cant seem to remember what to do!!!!

Have you asked her if she would like to try? Knowing that she's weed is a definite step in the potty direction!

If she doesn't want to try, Gaffer tape is brilliant for keeping a nappy on ... (that's not a joke, it really does work. Just don't attach the Gaffer tape to the child ...!)

How the very devil are you anyway? Haven't seen you around in yonks.

im good thanks. Could say the same about you anyway!!
As you can tell DD is becoming a little madam and looks like my baby is gone and in her place i have a little independant madam!!!
Been spending alot of time on SN boards cos DS is hard work right now!
Hows DD??

It sounds to me like a sign that she's ready. Or at least getting there. I just made this suggestion somewhere else and I may be repeating things that everyone else already suggested / knows but this is what I find helps - in addition to books about using the potty, I tell dd that one of her dolls needs to pee. So, we help the doll up onto the loo or the potty or what have ya and that usually makes dd ok with the idea of trying too. Maybe you could try that and see how it goes. She is still young so I wouldn't push it but maybe she'd be ok with it.

Is definitely worth a try - if she doesn't take to it then you haven't lost anything.

It might be worth getting pull-up type nappies if you don't use them already - she might find it easier to pull them up and down than to have a remove a nappy with tapes.

We're OK - nothing much changes! Dd is practising being a teenager at the moment - nearly 7 going on nearly 17

oh WWB your dd sounds as great as ever!! Hope you are feeling ok too!!

Had DD in pants from the minute she got up this morning and she has only had 2 accidents and each time she did it whilst running to the potty! All wees on potty and even had a poo too! Have just put her in a nappy for nap time but will take it off as soon as she gets up (if she hasnt already!)
Have got DH to bring home some pull ups too as have toddler group tomorrow which will be more of a challenge!!1

Bless her, she sounds as if she's doing really well!

I'm a bit bleurgh, had surgery yesterday (icky gynaecological stuff) and am a bit crampy still, but doing OK otherwise.

Must try and get together sometime.
