The cat was spayed and all hell broke loose at home...

Yes, the minute the cat came back from the vets ds (6), who is a lovely sensitive little boy, burst out crying because:

  1. Cat was missing large part of her fur and didn't look beautiful
  2. She's got 'red' (=skin) on her
  3. He did not get to see her eggs (struggled to keep a straight face at that one)
  4. He would love to have 8 kittens in 1 go

Dd (4) also burst out crying, but only because I told her off for trying to chase and torture the poor cat the minute I released her from the carrier.

Both of them then managed to keep crying for 1 hour. On top of that ds thought it would be a brilliant idea to express his feelings of anger and sadness at the cat's plight by throwing his toy cars across the living room one by one. DH is away at sea and au pair didn't think to come down to help me with 2 screaming dc's. Tried to console ds about all of the above to no avail.

All in all not the best afternoon and desperately in need of a stiff drink now, however I am on a diet and stiff drinks contain to many calories, so a cup of herbal tea (of the calming variety) it will be...

Just had to get all of this of my chest as dh is not here. Thanks for listening

My kitten was speyed last month & my dc aged 13 & 10, wouldn't go near her because she smelt and had dried slobber on her face. At least it meant she got some peace!
