4 month old not drinking enough

Sorry, long rambling post ahead. Looking for advice for my 17-week-old twins. One of my twins is such a small eater and trying to get her to drink is really getting me down.

She was 4lbs 4 when born, she is now 13lbs. She has gained weight slowly but consistently. But, it’s really hard work trying to get her to drink. Today she has only drank 13oz despite me offering a bottle whenever she shows signs of hunger or when it’s been 3-4 hours. I’m basically making bottles up all day that she has one or two gulps of and then won’t take anymore.

She can drink 5 - 6oz when she wants to. But it’s only once or twice a day. Usually around 5.30am and 6.30pm. The rest of the time, she isn’t interested. We had a good period last week, where she was drinking around 23oz (which was amazing for her) but things have gone down hill.

I’ve changed bottles, moved to medium teat, changed formula (which seems to agree with her more). I did think it could be bottle aversion, so I try not to push her. Once she refuses twice, I stop trying to feed her. She never cries when I’m trying to feed her, just smiles and pushes the bottle around her mouth.

Her doctor said she is gaining weight, so just let her be. He suggested trying to introduce solids earlier. But she doesn’t have good enough head control yet. So for now that isn’t an option.

Any ideas?? Feel like every day is consumed tallying up how much she has drank and then worrying when she hasn't had enough.

I was about to suggest trying her with solids. When my oldest was a baby it was 4months to start introducing solids( I didn’t get told the put the age up to 6months until I had already started ds2 on solids) as long as she is sitting in a bouncy chair or preferably a high chair u can tilt back slightly she will be fine as long as she’s not lying right back. My personal opinion is some babies are ready earlier than others I had a friend who’s baby didn’t start taking solids till around 9months as she just wasn’t interested before then. All babies are different, some will near enough bite ur hand off for it while other don’t look twice.
