My DC has all of a sudden turned extremely fussy the last few days and I don’t know why. Last few days constantly whinging, crying - DC is fed/winded/not ill. Also sleeping gone out the window and is awake every two hours.
I don’t know what else to do. It’s constant. What’s going on?!

Teething!

invest in some teething granuals or those little rings you can put in the fridge to smooth babies gums. There’s lots of natural ways to help apparently but I was a fan of Anbesol. It sort of numbs the gums a little and gives them relief.

Also babies generally hit a regression around 4 months so it could also be that, it affects their sleep cycles. They usually had a regression every 4 months or so for the first year. Totally normal development milestones!

frustrating for us but good signs of natural development for baby

She has discovered her hands and constantly biting them too. I thought 12 weeks was too young for teething ?

Could be teething, could be a growth spurt.

Is she taking more milk than usual? That would suggest a growth spurt.

Try teething powder on her gums or a frozen teething ring (might be a bit young but we used to freeze a clean damp flannel or muslin and let DD chew on that)

If you haven't done it already, look up 'wonder weeks' we found it scarily accurate for predicting a fussy baby.

Too hot?
Like the elderly, babies can struggle to adjust to extreme temperatures. They're stuck lying down, in a confined space, can't move around and when they complain, getting even more hot and bothered, they get picked up and cuddled by another sweaty human.
Try removing clothing. A fan. (White noise will help.) A sponge down with a luke-warm flannel.
Worth a try.

Mine cut his first tooth at 16 weeks and had been grizzly for 2 or 3 weeks beforehand, so no, it’s definitely not too early.

I literally just posted a similar thread , exactly the same with my 11 week old!

Suddenly so fussy, won't nap, sucking everything in sight /he can get near his month. Generally totally grumpy...
