Hard wearing school shoes

Apologies for the boring thread but my DS is starting in reception in September and i need to get him school shoes, they have to be plain and black.
He scuffs all his shoes so looking for durable shoes that will last him a good while, happy to pay a bit more if it means they will withstand a 4 year old that doesn't sit still. Can anyone recommend a brand/shop they have found anything like this in?
Thank you

Adidas tensaur lasted us until he outgrew them. So almost all year.
We then got black leather nikes for the final term and they had holes in the toes after a few weeks.
He's 5 btw.

My sons Clarke's ones lasted him sept-July last year.
You can get toe bump style ones to make them last longer too ☺️

Geoxx Savage. They’re known as the indestructibles in this house.

Camper have been excellent. My kid's Clarks ones didn't survive.

If he's still wrecking shoes when he's a bit bigger, I recommend Magnum Viper Pro. They're usually worn by uniform services, like police, DS has been wearing them for a couple of years, smallest size I've seen is a 3 though.

Ricosta shoes; my daughters lasted from first day of reception up to a few days before she broke up for summer. By some miracle her feet grew only half a shoe size, so we didn't need to change them at all. I thought that's amazing for shoes that were worn 4 times a week for a whole school year.

I'd find a local children's shoe shop if you can, who can measure correctly and give you some sound advice. We have one locally; the lady who owns it gave us a couple of options based on what we were looking for, and then advised us to go up half a size with an insole.

Worked perfectly for us.

My DS is moving into yr 1 and I’m needing indestructible ones. He wrecked two pairs in reception playing football every break! Start-rite look much tougher to me so might give those a go rather than Clark’s again

We tend to get proper leather boots and keep them well maintained so any scuffs are polished.
