Mum-appropriate hobbies

I know you're supposed to include your kids in your hobbies, but my hobbies are video games. And I'm definitely not about to let my 1 year old watch me playing all day - that definitely wouldn't be good for him!!

What are your hobbies that can include your toddlers?

Swimming, baking, walking but I think you are asking for activities to do with you child. Are you EAL?

The whole point of hobbies is that you get time away from the kids!!!

That’s my line of thinking too.

I bet there aren't any dads out there wondering if they should give up golf or whatever because it's not a 'dad appropriate' hobby.

Hobbies are for you, not your kids. Leave them with your DP (if on the scene) while you have some time to yourself.

Hobbies are meant to make you happy, not to include others necessarily. Idk, I think you can have hobbies like playing video games or hitting the gym, that are for you only, and then you can have other hobbies, like making cute puppy slideshows or creating various picture collages with the kids.

I do hobbies to get a break from my child 😂

In theory so do I but I actually don't have many hobbies. They sort of fell by the wayside.

I love going to the cinema. I have gritted my teeth through 12 years worth of children films and hope that pay day in the form of joint watching something decent together is on my horizon.

Otherwise I tell DH to crack on and I usually bugger off to the pub with a book.

Painting is good for this OP. And cooking. And gardening actually! DS loves all of these. But it may be frustrating until your DC is a bit older. That’s why the early days are so hard! Around 3 they’ll be able to join in with these activities in a meaningful way. DS loves to paint while I do actual watercolours, for example. But you need to adjust your expectations of how long you’ll be able to do each thing before kid gets bored.
