3 month old teething?

Hiya, I am a first time mum and I think my DS is teething. He seems to be drooling loads and constantly has his hands in his mouth and constantly sucks on Muslim cloths . I understand this is normal for his age (3 months) but he is crying when I try to take his hands away as he sometimes heaves when he does this. He starts crying out of nowhere like something is hurting him. I am aware he has silent reflux and we have been prescribed gaviscon which seems to help loads and I don’t think it’s the reflux as the hand sucking ect has only started over the last few weeks.

Any advice would be great, I am due to speak with doctor tomorrow but as I mentioned I’m new to this so just wanted to see if anyone has experienced this and found it to be teething.

thanks!

It's really unlikely. Much more likely developmental coinciding with a fussy phase of a leap.

Just to play devil's advocate to @Flittingaboutagain my DD had her first 2 teeth at 4 months old so it is possible! I remember seeing all the signs of what I thought was teething when she was 3 months old and being told by my HV and GP that she was too young and them bam her bottom 2 teeth popped through! Often mothers do know their child best. The problem with an early teether is they can't have any of the remedies for teething until they're 6 months old so it is a bit miserable to be honest. Lots of cuddles and letting her chew my fingers (or anything else she could get her hands on) was the only solution for us. On the upside as she teethed so early it was all old hat to her by the time she was 1 and she made a lot less of a fuss of subsequent teeth than other little ones of the same age so there are some positives!

Thank you both!

More likely it's not but he could, teething will stop and start long before the tooth appears. The drooling could just be the mouth developing all the saliva/drool mechanisms. At the end of the day even if it is teething or it's not there's nothing different you'd do, just allow him to chew on safe things if he wants and if he's in pain calpol or teething gel see if that helps xx

Hello. I have an 11 week old today and i am a FTM. My LO seems to want to bite hard onto things hard like my fingers and sometimes has his hands in his mouth even though he's just been fed and not hungry. He's also is dribbling a lot more recently. I had a look in his mouth and feel like i can see 2 little white bits (teeth) on his bottom gum but not sure if I'm just seeing things or could be something else. I have attached a picture (clearest i could capture). Your thoughts would be much appreciated x

They look like teeth coming through to me and that is exactly where my daughter's first two were!
