When did you let your child have a sleepover?

I have a 2.5 year old, my partner would like them to have a sleepover at grandparents house; I am not comfortable being away from him overnight yet. I don't know what age I would feel comfortable but I would guess not for a while yet maybe 4/5. I don't know why but I just don't think they need to. Interested to hear what others have done and if I'm being over the top?

3mths, both DD and DS, as soon as each was were taking bottles of pumped breast milk and we needed a break and a night out!
They had them overnight regularly and the kids loved it. They're adults now and still very close to their grandparents.
My lovely parents even looked after my best friends' baby girl who was the same age as our baby girl on NYE millennium so we could all go to a Ball - they were both 11mths.

I think about 2 but lock down before that which delayed it a bit, he's been at grandparents' this weekend (just turned 4) and had a whale of a time, even has his own bedroom there. Friends etc I'd wait a bit but grandparents, unless there is a huge drip feed, surely the longer you leave it the more anxious they get being away from you?

They don't "need to" but, if you have willing and capable Grandparents who are happy to, it might be nice to let them enjoy it at a time when there is no pressure, rather than the first time they are away from you being some sort of emergency when you are worrying about other things ?

Plus, surely it would be nice to have an evening out and then a lie in ?
How lovely to have the opportunity when so many others don't.
