Calpol alternative

Calpol upsets my Dds (8 months) stomach and gives her instant nappy rash so I've stopped using it. Does anyone know if other liquid paracetamol will have the same affect or is it likely to be something in calpol?

I'm giving her nurofen at the moment as she's really struggling with teething.

Is it a sugar free version? The sugar substitutes might be affecting her.

Can you get more than one kind? I would assume it is, but I don't know...I'll check in the morning.

Try other brands. They will probably be cheaper as well!

Paracetamol comes in a suppository form also which you can get from a pharmacy- if the other, oral form is upsetting the stomach or causing gastric issues. Might be an allergy though but speak to the pharmacist or HV first.

Yes...but will they upset her stomach as well? That's what I was asking...if it was something in the paracetamol or if it was something specific in the actual calpol. I looked the other day at the supermarket but have no idea what I should be looking for.

My local pharmacy don't seem to stock anything child suitable unfortunately, so it'll be a while before I ask another pharmacy - but I'll certainly remember next time I go.

My HV are a load of rubbish unfortunately - their advice was to stop giving an 8 month old any milk (at all) so I definitely have no confidence in what they have to say.
