Can anyone recommend good makes for clothes that fit over cloth nappies?
Thanks in advance.

Tesco vests are quite long in the body (unless you have a tall baby). If you have a problem with vests being long enough but giving a gaping neck you can buy vest extenders instead.

Cut4cloth are a good fit but expensive (check out ebay for second hand which comes up from time to time).

Weenotions do clothing too I think but I haven't seen anything yet.

There is a cloth nappy company in wales that make trousers to order at £12. Can't think of name but I can put a link on later if you want.

Dungarees are always a good option too IME.

Alternatively make your own trousers. This is what I do. I'm completely rubbish at handicrafts but they turn out suprisingly well. There is a relatively recent (within the last 6 weeks I think) thread in the crafts thread about doing this.

There is a thread on this subject in the nappies section too if you scroll back far enough you should be able to find it

I just use soft jersey trousers/joggers with elasticated waist in teh next size up, this allows room for a cloth nappy.
FOund some decent ones at Next and Boots (Mini Mode), £6 for two pairs which is good value I think.

Seesaw do generously sized trousers with elasticated waits. Because the trousers are all reversible you can buy a size up and turn up the bottoms without them looking daft - there's always a gorgeous fabric on the other side. All made in the UK too which is a bonus

H&M generally a good fit, esp as all the trousers have adjustable waists (even baby ones). They do six styles of jeans (for boys anyway!) with different 'seats' as well as leg cuts.
Boden baggies are nice too, I bought a cute pair from a mumsnetter.
Cut 4 cloth do navy/natural jersey trousers and they're only £8 if you look around (can't remember where I bought mine now, but they're fab).
Kittykins do a few other brands that are cut to fit cloth including green rabbit
Pumpkin Patch is pretty good (adjustable waists again).
Seesaw look gorgeous, hadn't come across them before!

Coby, did you mean Trufflebuggy (just checked my bookmarks) or somewhere else?

coby · 20/01/2008 21:21

yes, thats who I meant - I remember the truffledungers now

FlameNFurter · 21/01/2008 10:33

I tend to stick with H&M. Boy trousers are generally easier than girls because they tend to be more roomy fit.

coby · 21/01/2008 16:17

Aren't they just Flame? Just getting rid of all my girly clothes and replacing with boy things for DC3 and really pleased to find a decent fit at last - looking back I realise the best fitting trousers I had for cloth bummed DD2 were unisex ones.

hawesmead5 · 21/01/2008 16:31

I use dungarees, they seem to be the best bet as they are roomy round the waist and turn up nicely at the bottom . I have also used joggers from Geroge which seem to be a cheap option.

accessorizemybaublessanta · 21/01/2008 18:43

Dungarees look so cute too, looks like they're meant to have fat bottoms! I have 2 pair of (2nd hand) gap ones and they're fab, will last several more children.
Remembered also that BrightBots do quite a range of stuff too and not v.pricey, very bright colours! From TwinkleTwinkle.

hawesmead5 · 21/01/2008 19:37

OOOh! I didn't know about bright bots. I've just had a look and there are some really good sweat pants and stuff, I think I might invest. Thanks for that one accessorizemybaublessanta

hotbot · 21/01/2008 19:46

i buy boys trousers for dd they seem less tailored and more bum-roomy

bobsmum · 21/01/2008 19:48

Bright Bots stuff is gorgeous!! REally good quality and much better value than Cut4cloth. Both dd and ds have had trousers and tops by them, from Twinkle.

MrsBadger · 21/01/2008 20:17

Tinkertogs do the cheapest sleepsuits (the thing I struggle most with)

hawesmead5 · 21/01/2008 21:35

Just looked on ebay and there is quite alot of bright bots stuff on there too.

bright bots on ebay? Odd that only Twinkle sells them when they're so nice-looking (I've never bought any).
MrsB I had forgotten about Tinkertogs, I've been too cheap to buy Cut4Cloth bodysuits but they have them £10 for 4 which is much more reasonable!
