Baby poorly after 16 week jabs

My little girl had her last lot of jabs yesterday. Her 16 week ones. Yesterday she was fine during the day, got to around 7pm and she was a bit clingy and whiny, but she just fell asleep until midnight and she was burning up but temp was 36.2, so I stripped her down and she fell back to sleep until 4am as she woke for a feed as she skipped her bedtime bottle. She was then a bit whiny as I think her leg was sore, but when back to sleep from 5am till 8am. This morning she's been much the same, just feeling sorry for herself. She's been asleep currently for the last 2 hours, was due a feed half an hour ago but she's sleeping through it.

She wasn't like this with her first jabs, she was fine the next day, her second she didn't take any affect at all, but these 16 week ones she's been so not herself. Is this normal? She's also a nightmare to get calpol into, she hates it with a passion. But normally she just tolerates it, but yesterday she gags, just gurgles it in her mouth, spits it out. Can I put it into her milk bottle? Or any ways at all I can get some into her?

Poor tooty. My DD reacted badly to the jabs that had the MenB. She was really sick (as in vomited a lot). These jabs are awful :(

no advice re. Calpol but hopefully someone else will know!

Hope she is better soon x

Paracetamol suppositories can be handy in these scenarios

She's back to her happy self today thank god. Yesterday she just slept and slept, but was still having her bottles so that was a relief. I ended up putting calpol in her bottle and she didn't notice. The sleeping for her was definitely her best healer. She's my happy chick again today. Thank you ladies x

I used to put calpol in milk when ds wouldn't take it normally. Hope she feels better soon

Sorry should've read your update ! Glad she's back to herself

GirlMumxo · 12/08/2022 11:29

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits i was in 2 minds incase it put her off drinking her bottles. But she wasn't phased at all. Was a lot less hassle and a lot less mess x

Mine was like after 3rd set of jabs, first day she was just a wee bit tired, but the 2nd day she slept and slept, and when she was awake she constantly yawned, very short awake windows aswell, she took the calpol ok tho, back to herself now

Try putting the calpol in a bottle lid with teat, especially if she needs it between feeds

I wouldn't worry, I noticed my second was much more affected by the jabs than my first and I think it was the introduction of the meningitis jab, which is obviously a really good thing. We took him to the gp after 48 hours as we were worried about his temp and while we were there he did a huge bright green poo and was much better afterwards, it really affected his tummy!
