Just curious!

Lol no. Nor did crawling, cruising, walking, nursery, night weaning. All bollocks. They sleep through when they sleep through.

RedWingBoots · 07/08/2022 17:20

Nope.

Next question.

fluffyducky21 · 07/08/2022 17:21

I wish lol.

Another no

babyrocket · 07/08/2022 17:22

It stopped my baby sleeping through. She was before we started weaning.

liveforsummer · 07/08/2022 17:22

No and it made her reflux worse which I was assured it would improve (at least purées did. Finger foods were ok but no effect on sleep) 😆.

AliceW89 · 07/08/2022 17:23

Nope. 6-9 months was the lowest point in fact as far as sleep was concerned in the first year!

Suedomin · 07/08/2022 17:24

No, I think it's just a in myth that solids make a baby sleep through.

Waitingforever123 · 07/08/2022 17:24

Dc1 no definitely not (started weaning at 4 months was advice then).
Dt (started weaning at 5 months on Dr's advice). Were both sleeping through consistently within weeks. Most likely coincidence I feel.

Babdoc · 07/08/2022 17:25

Mine were formula fed, and already sleeping through from 8 weeks. But they had little tastes of mashed potato or yogurt from about 8 or 9 weeks - we offered solid food much earlier 30 years ago.

This, plus starting school didn't help either.

Coffeaddict · 07/08/2022 17:32

Nope, made it worse

Treabrea · 07/08/2022 17:37

Nope, up all night farting instead.

babyrocket · 07/08/2022 17:39

Haha @Treabrea that's amazing!

DelurkingAJ · 07/08/2022 17:39

Nope. Not one jot of difference to my appalling sleepers.

tulipsunday · 07/08/2022 17:47

Think it was most likely the sleep training rather than solids that helped his sleep. Didn't sleep through till around 12 months though

despairingdonut · 07/08/2022 17:47

Nope 👎

sunshinesupermum · 07/08/2022 17:51

Yes. Starting solids = sleeping through after a bottle before I went to bed.

DancingBarbieHorse · 07/08/2022 18:12

I truly believe it's the child's make up that determines whether they sleep through early or not.

Eldest was an excellent sleeper, still is. Deep sleeper too. Slept 7-7 from 6 months. Only woke twice a night from tiny. Mainly BF with odd formula bottle. I think it was probably coincidence that solids coincided with sleeping through.

Middle, terrible sleeper and still at 10 doesn't need as much sleep as eldest. Finds it hard to fall asleep and wakes easily. BF. Solids made no difference.

Youngest, mixture of both.

I think consistency of bedtime can help create expectations but is no guarantee.

Sbena · 07/08/2022 20:19

Haha, nope

Jurassiclover · 07/08/2022 21:59

Nope, not even once he was on 3 meals a day

BuffaloCauliflower · 07/08/2022 22:00

No, sleep is developmental. Like crawling, walking and talking they develop the ability to link sleep cycles all night in their own time.

Simonjt · 07/08/2022 22:02

Nope! Now she is have some solids she manages to time her biggest, smelliest poo at about 3am too, its great.

Creepymanonagoatfarm · 07/08/2022 22:04

After weaning was established mine had a weetabix and milk for supper...
Apparently giving a banana has miracle results.

quietnightmare · 07/08/2022 22:12

Nope but did help getting a longer stretch before the first wake up
