My dc is 24 m and I’m just wondering what average heights and weights are
also does this sound like an average amount of food ? It’s a typical day

-1 weetabix, half apple grated and milk or 1 slice toast and a banana

snack - orange or brioche

-lunch , savoury muffin (with courgette peas and aubergine in) , cheese cubes, grapes

-dinner - whatever we have eg curry, risotto , fish and veg.

cup of milk at bedtime

My lo is 22 months. She's 21 pounds, which I worry is small? Not sure how tall she is? Clothes wise, 18-24 months generally are too big, especially on the bottom half. She's a feast of famine child. Some days she eats just a fistful of food but other days she'll eat loads and I worry she'll burst! I can't give a typical days intake because it varies so much.

All I would say, is my mum goes by 'if you didn't know their weight, would you be worried?'. And I wouldn't be, my lo is happy, alert and sleeps well, so I try not to obsess over her weight or what she eats.

Not sure if that's even helped? 😬

My son is 26 months. 14.6kg. I don't know his height but he's very tall. Not fat. I think this is definitely the larger end of the scale though.

Sounds about the same as my son eats.

My DD is 27 months. 11.5kg and about 86cm tall - she’s tiny, but was born small. Sounds about the same as she eats!

I would be offering a snack between lunch and dinner, aiming to offer something to eat every 2-3 hours. If you're worried about underweight can you beef up the snacks? Boiled eggs etc rather than fruit

UnicornIceCream · 04/08/2022 11:15

I try offering an afternoon snack but because she naps after lunch and wakes up grumpy (!!!) she pushes away anything I offer and then just has dinner I’m hoping when we drop the nap maybe that will mean a snack is accepted

What size is your little one op? My son isn't much of a snacker and he's enormous (as my post above). I think they all vary so much.

The red book goes to 4 so you can plot weight and height on the centiles.

bloodywhitecat · 04/08/2022 13:58

Sounds a similar amount of food to my 27 month old, he's 87cm and 13kg

MyCatIsNotFittingMyKitchen · 04/08/2022 14:01

My 30 month old is 92cm exactly at the moment. Not sure what he weighs but he was 75th centile for both height and weight when last measured. His weight is in proportion to his height and looks fine.

I’d say he eats a bit more than your little one, though maybe not as varied/healthy a diet! Second child means more biscuits 😳and he is fickle at the moment about “proper food” for dinner unless it’s pasta.

Luxembourgmama · 04/08/2022 14:24

Shes almost 3 (32 months) she's 95cm and 14.2kg

Rinatinabina · 04/08/2022 14:33

At 2yrs 8 months 101cm 17kg. She does eat way more than yours (worry its too much sometimes but not prepared to restrict anything at her age)

B: a plain yoghurt and strawberries
s: babybel, fruit and a couple of crackers
L: half a sandwich and fruit (refusing veg atm)
S - something like cold meat or hummus and bread
D - whatever we are having -
so salmon, curry etc

milk twice a day but only one is dairy as she’s slightly lactose intolerant and we have to limit that one to 150ml. She’s a good eater but hates chicken and veg right now which means her diet can be quite narrow
