4 month old suddenly taking less per feed?

My DD is 4 months old. She usually would have taken a 5 or 6 Oz bottle every 3-4 hours (on demand but this is her normal rhythm) but has suddenly started to fight her bottles. It’s a struggle to get her to take 3oz sometimes. She pushes the bottle out, looks at it, looks around and is so easily distracted it’s unreal! So I just feed on demand as usual but she sometimes goes for over 5 hours before showing signs of hunger then still only has half a bottle! It has went on since her injections last Monday, over a week ago but I’d have thought she would be over the side effects of those by now? She’s teething too, not sure if that could be a factor. She does have plenty of wet nappies and a dirty nappy once a day as usual, and she’s a big baby in the 91st percentile. Just wondering at what point should I worry or seek help, or do I just treat as a phase and ride it out?

If you're ever concerned about fluid intake dream feed at naps.
Could be you need to up the teat size.
Could be an allergy has developed.
Could be teething but that would be rare so young.

Meant to add also that another strange thing is the morning bottle is the hardest one to get her to take whilst she feeds well at night when half asleep. Take last night for example - had a 6oz bottle at 9pm and I thought happy days this is great. Went to bed and then woke at 1:30 for another feed and took 5oz this time. Then didn’t wake again until 8:30am at which point I had a bottle ready for when she woke up, expecting her to be hungry after that long stretch. But no, she refused it each time I offered and in the end I had to throw it out, it was almost 10 am before she fed. Just worried a bit Sad

Yes teething is probably a factor. Is she perhaps in pain in her mouth and the teet is uncomfortable? Also maybe she’s going through a development growth spurt and suddenly the world is much more interesting than boring feeds? If she’s otherwise happy and healthy, no temperature, vomiting etc then I wouldn’t worry.

@PerfectPrepPrincess She’s already on size 2 teat and when we did try size 3 once it was too fast for her, she gagged a little. She defs has been teething for a while, but up until now it hasn’t affected her bottles. Wondering if it’s just a case of being more alert/easily distracted during the day which would explain the better eating at night or as you suggest dream feeding during naps.

@Heroicallyl0st Yeah perhaps a growth spurt as you say, could explain it.

I know it is an old post but @ChickenSandwichandCupofTea did you get to the bottom of it?
My 5 months old boy now is going through exactly the same problem, for last 2 weeks already. First we blamed teething (his teeth are came through now) then cold, but he recovered now however his feeding patterns - no. And it is exactly the same as you described, he was such a hungry baby and great eater before, and now he much eats less in the mornings, and didn't finish most of the bottles having approx 30 % of formula less than before with each feed. Please help :((((

@jul1012 I think that soon after that we moved up to a size 3 teat and things improved then! She also did have a few growth spurts back then so could have been that. All coincided with her being more alert and interested in what was going on around her. Feeling emotional reading back over that thread as she’s almost a year old now and that thread feels like a million years ago!
