Hey
due to an awful miscommunication my 6 yo has eaten raw chicken & given some to her 18m sister.
I told her she could get a snack from the fridge, she misunderstood which shelf I meant and she opened herself up a packet of raw chicken goujons, thinking it was the cooked chicken I was telling her to grab.
she must have had a couple of big bites, realised it was disgusting and passed it straight to her little sister, before I realised what was going on and intervened.
it’s been a couple of hours, both girls seem fine and have had a good dinner plus lots of lemon water and some raw garlic on toast (on the very distant off chance that garlic and lemon may help kill off some bacteria).
ive also rubbed coconut oil and lavender & tea tree all over their tummies, I know it’s probably nonsense, but grasping at straws here.
Has anyone else had this happen?
is it worth calling 111 (wait times are super long here atm) - I doubt they would prescribe antibiotics without any symptoms? Or is it just a case of watch and wait and hope they’ve somehow dodged serous food poisoning.
