Can we have a brag thread about our kids??

Can we have a thread where we can shamelessly brag about our kids achievements? I feel so often that we can't discuss our kids achievements in RL because others don't like it 😅 I'll go first:

My DD made me proud today by telling me she'd done a number 2 in her nappy! First time I've not had to chase her round the house to check! She's only just 2 and this feels like a massive step towards toilet training! 🙌

Come brag about your incredible kids!

OP posts:

My DD also told me she'd done a poo this morning! (with the sign - she's 17 months!).
She was also saying what I thought was "ball" after breakfast, and I was a bit confused, then finally realised she was telling me there was a bowl on the floor!

OP posted in Parenting about made it very clear what the thread was about. You could have very easily avoided it.

The OP can be pleased her 2 year old has managed a good step forward in potty training. These things do make parents proud.

My kids are older and I'm proud of both of them in their different ways.

DD11 scored 120 (full marks) in her reading SATs. I'd love to shout how proud I am of her from the rooftops but real life discussing SATs scores isn't the done thing.

DD14 (ADHD, ASD and anxiety) is currently splashing around in the sea having a great time and forgetting all her difficulties for at least a short time. That's a big achievement for her.

Claim your victories, fuck everyone else.
DC1 (27 ADHD) engaged, great career, bought a house three years ago.
DC2 18, always struggled academically but is flying in his apprenticeship in electrical engineering.
DC3 gained all 8s and 9s in her mock GCSEs recently and is predicted A** in maths, biology, chemistry and physics, amongst others.
I have a life threatening illness and have almost died three times during their childhood (think life support/ICU) and spend long periods of time in hospital. I'm so proud of DC and how they've coped. I'd never brag like this IRL.

Love all of this. 🙌🏼

But then why did you click on this thread, when the title made it abundantly clear what the content would be?

Good for your DD, OP. I hated potty training so any win is a good win!

Similar to another poster, I’m just proud this year that both kids were able to have a full year at school, made it through, and seem to have plenty of friends and be liked by their peers. That’s enough for me right now.

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/08/2022 13:37

Nice one @Mommabear20.🙌

Not really an "achievement" but my kids have great hair. DS1(15) has curly blond ringlets and DS2(4) has the glossiest, pure straight hair.😊

Confused

what a weird comment. No one forced you to open the, clear subject matter, post 🙄

what is wrong with this madhouse today.

RedRobyn2021 · 01/08/2022 13:47

OP ignore the salty comments..

I cried because I was so proud when my daughter cut her first teeth. So I get it. It's a milestone and once step closer to your child being more independent, it's wonderful. Good for you.

RedRobyn2021 · 01/08/2022 13:49

I love the way my daughter beams at other people and it makes them smile too. She has the best smile. Not an achievement but just something that makes my heart full.

Cannaa89 · 01/08/2022 13:54

Well done OP! F* the haters.
My 10 month old has just this week started handing objects to us and it brings me so much joy when he does it.

rainbowstardrops · 01/08/2022 13:56

It never fails to baffle me why people come on to threads that are very clear what they're going to be about and then slate the OP.
Weird!
Just scroll on by! It really isn't tricky.
Well done OP, I think that's lovely that your child can start to make connections with potty training.

CoastalWave · 01/08/2022 14:00

My child is a British Champion in her sport.

Tbh I was pretty upset though when I did post about it and only 14 likes and 5 comments of 'well done' when the following day a good friend posted that her kid got Swimming badge 5 and got over 100 likes and 80 comments about how she was going to go to the Olympics.

I might add, I never post! My kid actually might go to the Olympics. Oh well!

capedavenger · 01/08/2022 14:00

Well I get it op, toilet training is hard and you're entitled to celebrate success 🎉🎉🎉

I'm proud of my (dyspraxic non-sporty) young teen because he signed up for a week of water sports last week and despite finding it hard as he does with anything that requires coordination he had a great attitude, listened well, made friends and was really positive about the whole experience.

You'll find when she gets there that everyone will pop out the woodwork!

That's rubbish but tbh could be down to FB not prioritising your posts and/or you not interacting with others.
I rarely post but will like and comment on other people's things a lot. As a result I can post something really innocuous and get 50 likes which I always find a bit odd.

How was it clear from the title of the thread that it was about a kid doing a shit? Please enlighten us.

Cotherstone · 01/08/2022 14:07

It might not have been clear it was about potty training but, you know, I can't entirely see how it could have been clearer that it was about bragging about kids...

But it was clear as soon as you clicked on it, so if it's not to your liking then click back off and move on with your day 🤷🏿‍♀️

Soubriquet · 01/08/2022 14:15

My two were arguing over who could do the drying up after I washed up.

I managed to find a second towel and they both dried up Grin

KarlWrenbury · 01/08/2022 14:24

Hooting at Shitgate

I thought it was someone at Harvard or something. Not a dump

MrsB902 · 01/08/2022 14:40

There are some truly awful people on mumsnet. Those who are asking why OP felt the need to share that should maybe ask themselves why they feel the need to go out of their way to comment on something that clearly doesn’t interest them 🙄

That’s fantastic OP and definitely sounds like your LO is getting ready for toilet training! My brag of the day is that my previously pram hating 5mo napped in his pram earlier while we had a nice family day out - little wins!

Sprogonthetyne · 01/08/2022 14:44

My DS put his own trousers on. He's nearly 6 but has SEN and every step forward in independence is hard won. OK they were his school trousers and on backwards, but he realised he needed some before going in garden and found and put them on himself.

Wouldloveanother · 01/08/2022 14:49

I have to admit I opened this expecting, at the very least, a swimming certificate. And instead I got a turd 😂

GreenEyedFox · 01/08/2022 14:52

My youngest beats all her year group in RE exams. Attends a Roman Catholic school isn’t religious but kicks the arses of all her peers the majority of whom have attended church since they were born
