Taking newborns out in winter

I’m after some advice about taking a newborn out in winter, I’m currently pregnant due at the end of November and not very clued up on everything yet as this is my first baby!
im single and going to be doing it all alone the only thing concerning me is I have a big dog who needs walking at least 2/3 times a day as we live in a flat and no one to really help me obviously I can’t just not walk him but I’m worried about taking the baby out in cold weather! Obviously I’d wrap them up warm and wouldn’t be out longer than necessary, I just wanted to know if it was okay and how to make the experience as easy and safe as possible for baby! Thankyou 😊

You and baby will be fine. Getting out of the house pretty much every day is important, both health wise and for your own sanity! Babies are robust and will be perfectly fine in the pram with lots of blankets.

Can't recommend the Ergobaby Omni 360 more highly in terms of slings. It takes a bit of getting used to in terms of putting on but there are plenty of helpful YouTube videos. It is so comfortable and supports you properly thereby avoids back aches etc. I can still carry our baby for an hour in it now - she's nearly 1 and 9.5kg.

Baby wearing coat I went for a Seraphine parka option which cost a lot but I love it, and will still wear it this winter as a normal coat.

I took dd out everywhere from birth including walking the dog, she was under 24 hours old on her first dog walk in winter. Look in the charity shop for a larger coat that fits over the baby carrier

What everyone else has said, dilling is a great brand for merino wool base layers and very affordable. Sling is definitely the way to go. And just to reiterate what everyone else has said, if you have a c section you physically will not be able to walk your dogs so you do need a plan in place, also somewhere for them to stay if you or baby have an extended stay in hospital.

Congratulations and good luck x
