Gro bags or gro snugs

Hi mummas. My baby is due on Christmas Eve!
Can I use a gro bag or a grow snug from newborn stage?
Also what tog would I get with it being the cold months?
All the options of different bags and togs have really confused me.
Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks ☺️

There is a minimum weight limit for the grobags so depends what the birth weight is

Is this the same for the gro snugs?

I think winter tog is usually 2.5. I haven't used the gro bags/snugs but as PP says they'll have a minimum weight on them.

I used a Love to Dream bag with DS when he was really small (winter baby) and he loved those, they're the ones where their arms go in the bag like a swaddle but their hands are up by their face, I'd definitely recommend those Smile from memory I think he could go into that from about 8lbs.

We used grosnugs initially DS was 7 pounds but scrawny, they go up to about 12 pounds, if I remember you can popper arms inside like swaddling but DS used to go nuts so always had arms out. In terms of layers not helpful but you get a feel for your baby quite quickly, what feels hot/cold etc. The guides were never right for us, but our house is very old and can be draughty

There is a minimum weight on sleeping bags: on ours it was 9lbs I believe. For winter as long as your room is between 16-20 degrees you'll want a 2.5 tog sleeping bag, and dress baby in a vest and sleepsuit.
