Would you put a 12 year old on her own in an Uber?

Our car has broken down and I need to get her to grans (20 min journey).

I am not sure DH thinks it's fine.

Would you do this?

I wouldn't, not in an Uber and not in a licensed taxi either.
I would go with the Uber with her and take an Uber back or if I was penniless I'd walk the return journey.

Silverfinch · 29/07/2022 17:49

Not in any type of taxi alone.

I wouldn’t put any 12 year old, boy or girl, in a taxi on their own.

No, at best, I'd want a trustworthy licensed cab only, ideally at that age, that she's taken there by someone we trust

Who would have taken her if your car wasn't broken down? Can't they do the round trip in an Uber?

Don'tcallthepolice · 30/07/2022 18:26

Thanks for all your replies. We didn't in the end and took her in a round trip ourselves. Cost a frigging fortune! I love Mumsnet for these kind of dilemmas! ❤️
