My baby cries all the time don't know what to do?

DS is 15 weeks old on Friday and for the past week or two he pretty much cries all day. He has short naps but sleeps well through the night. Feeds well no issues there. He has been dribbling a lot and will suck on my shoulder and his blanket. I'm not sure if he's teething or what but it's making me really depressed. We went away for a few days and he ruined the holiday for all of us I feel so bad for the other kids. He cried the whole time!

I've given him some teething granules that worked for about 10 minutes! He has just cried him self to sleep.

My house is an absolute tip, DH is trying to run his business from home so I can't keep bothering him.

This is the first time since I've had where I've thought I've really had enough of him now. He is making us all miserable! As cruel as that sounds.

I don't know where to go from here! Any ideas what it could be? My other two didn't get upset when they was teething so I don't know what to look for.

You sound like you need a bit of a break - husband still needs to pick up the slack. He doesn't work 24/7.

Have you tried calpol? When I was unsure I would give a dose and if it stopped the crying I knew then there was something bothering her at least!

And it could totally be teething - my DD screamed so much I called 111 as I had no idea it could be that bad!

Could be colic. Have you tried giving him a dummy? My son cried and I couldn't work it out. But I started giving him colic drops and a dummy and it made a big difference.

I was totally against giving him a dummy, but it definitely helped and I found it quite easy to get him off it after six months

If he’s crying all the time I would take him to the doctors first of all to rule out something like an ear infection? Try more to help the possible teething - they can have pain in their gums long before a tooth shows up. Calpol / nurofen and Anbesol liquid on the gums (the liquid is better than the gel). Has he got a teething toy to chew on like Sophie the giraffe? Is he hungry? Are you breast or formula feeding? I’m just trying to think of possible reasons. I’m breastfeeding but I don’t think my supply is great, sometimes my baby cries a lot on an evening and a bottle of formula stops it, even though I’ve offered her the breast a million times.

Its so stressful when your baby is crying for a long time so I totally sympathise. Try to get a break where you fully get away from the crying for a bit every day, even if you go walk round the block for 20 minutes. And try to remember that he’s a tiny baby, he’s not trying to annoy you, something is wrong and this is his only way of telling you (I don’t say that to be patronising, I know how hard it is to listen to, just try to keep it front of mind).

Has he got a temp?

consider colic - make sure you are winding him, cycle his legs, anything to make sure he burps - consider very warm boiled water and a few drops in a syringe into his mouth to help him burp

the saving Grace is he’s doing this through the day and not at night

it will pass

Sounds like teething. Try a dummy and Biccie pegs so he has something to rub sore gums on. I used Bonjela teething gel.

At this time of year, make sure he's not too hot/sweaty (loose light cotton clothes, nappy free kick time on a towel, take away the padded cot guards to let air circulate, don't use too many blankets. ) and offer cooled boiled wayer to drink.
