Reflux or more? FTM worries

Hi all, I posted not too long ago with some worries about my 11 week, EBF DS digestion and symptoms. I've since had him checked by paediatrics and GP (paediatrician was great and I trust their judgement just hoping for others stories/advice) who have confirmed he has reflux worsened by Laryngomalacia.

His symptoms are tummy pains and bloating, excessive dribbling, lots of curdled milk spit ups, painful wind and constant feeding.

They've prescribed him a daily dose of 2ml of liquid Omeprazole as he'd tried Gaviscon before and it just thickened his spit ups to the point he choked on them.

He has only been on the omeprazole for two days and I've noticed two main differences - he's doing less little spit ups but still does big spit ups however these are no longer curdled they look like fresh milk and seem more volume than usual. He has also started pooping quite watery poos immediately after feeds or during - these are like diarrhea imo as there is an absence of milk curds in them.

He is otherwise a happy baby who interacts and smiles. Takes all his feeds, has plenty wet nappies and only had bad crying episodes when he has wind.

My question is are these big non-curdled spit ups normal? Is the diarrhea something I need to worry about? Are these normal omeprazole side effects and could it just be him adjusting? Any advice or stories appreciated!

Hi, our son was on Omeprazole from 2-7months - they told us it takes about 10 days on it before you see the effects so maybe monitor for a few days to see if it's a blip or not. Our son's reflux wasn't really fixed by it at all and he struggled to keep the Omeprazole down because the taste was horrific! I'm not sure what you mean by curdled milk - reflux vomit is usually white, clear, or clear with bits of part-digested milk in it, it just depends on how long the milk's been in the tummy when it comes back up. If you're worried I'd speak to your health visitor or the paediatrician directly if you can. Your health visitor can probably get a follow-up appointment fairly quickly if needed, ours was great for that.
