1 year jabs and heatwave

My 13 month old has an appointment for his one year vaccinations on Monday. I’m wondering whether to postpone given the weather forecast. But I’ve also read that the reaction to these jabs can come later so he could well be fine on Monday/Tuesday. I don’t want to delay unnecessarily but equally don’t want to have a very unhappy child if he does have a reaction on those days. What would you do?

I think if I was you I'd be tempted to delay if there isn't a huge wait for another appointment, as obviously the jabs are important. More because I wouldn't want to walk to our drs or get into a car, even for a short journey, in that heat.

In terms of a reaction, with my DS (now 18mo) he was a bit ratty / unsettled for a week after the jabs but didn't get a temp or rash or anything like that, he was just a bit out of sorts. But every kid is different so if you feel like the heat would make your child worse with it all, then look into moving the appt.

I wouldn’t wait. Keep baby cool and give Calpol.

The walk to the GPs is another thing to consider as the appointment’s in the middle of the day. Not planning to leave the house otherwise! Really not sure what to do.

I would postpone but my baby really reacts to jabs temperature wise. She had some during a heatwave last year and it made it that much rougher. How did yours react to the first few?
