Newborn fussier in the heat - anyone else?

My newborn is 6 weeks and she is quite a fussy/colicky baby anyway and she started to calm down. This week however ever since the weather has got hot, she's got worse during the day. She keeps crying on and off, and has also got more clingy!! My flat is hot which doesn't help :( is this normal? She's drinking more and apart from being fussy and whingey she's not unwell.

The heat will get to anyone but babies can't regulate their body temperature like we can. Keep her in cool, light clothes, plenty of fluids etc. don't worry, just try to keep her as comfortable as you can

She might enjoy a splash in a warm bath.

Sounds normal to me. Ds1 was born in a heatwave and my memories of his newborn period is largely me crying holding a screaming sweaty baby 😂 my third baby is 11 weeks old and she is also a bit more unsettled in the heat.

Keep the baby as cool as you can, just a nappy or nappy and a vest, offer feeds regularly, open your windows when it cools down in the evening will help.

Don’t worry too much, I was super stressed when my first was little about the heat. I panic bought a really expensive fan and my husband was not impressed. 6-8 weeks is peak crying so some of the fussiness is probably down to her age too.

That's been me the last hour, she has all of a sudden started screaming. Been trying everything to keep her cool but she's really unsettled:(

Definitely a bath, leave her in a nappy, spritz her with water from those evian spray bottles, offer her another drink.
