Uber in London with a 11month old tips?

Hi

I'm going to London and think it would be easiest for me to use Uber to get to where I need to. I'm getting nervous about the prospect so want to make it as stress free as possible by planning ahead.

I was going to take my car seat I can fit using a seatbelt and the base of my pram I'd need to put in their boot.

Does anyone have any tips or experiences they could share?

Thank you xx

My top tip is do not close the car doors until you are all strapped in ready to go. My experience of Ubers with kids was that they set off as soon as the doors closed and didn't care that I was struggling with seatbelts etc. doors open prevented that.

But to be honest, I'd use black cabs. They are safer and better on the whole.

Honestly I’ve always just got public transport in London as it’s easy as long as you know what stations to use for step free access etc or plan to walk or get a bus. Never found it tricky. For example Oxford Circus doesn’t have a lift but Bond st does so if go there and walk. If you really can’t do it via train bus overground or tube I’d get a black cab.

Get a black cab. You can push the pram straight into the back and apply the brake like you would on the bus. And it’s usually quicker because they can drive in the bus lanes.

Thank you thats great x

Can I ask how you got the pram in the black cab? Did you take it apart or wheel it in. Stupid question but I just want to be prepared 😊

You just push it on and they are usually good at helping you lift in and out too.

You can just wheel it in to a black cab. I'd use public transport or a black cab

The brilliant thing about black cabs is that the cabbie will help you lift the pram straight into the back with you. Honestly it's definitely the easiest option. Download the app before you go.

Thanks everyone! 🥰

I just got a load of abuse on twitter when I asked Uber which doesn't help when you're already nervous. I should have just asked here in the first place!!!!

Looking forward to it now xx
