Breasts are constantly leaking

Someone please help me!

I had my son at the end of April and never breastfed because I didn’t want too. I had mastitis really badly when I stopped breastfeeding my DD so I knew to wear a good bra for support to avoid it in the early days.

This time round I had no problems with mastitis but would still wear breast pads as my breasts would leak milk here and there. Fast forward to now and my breast still leak everytime I don’t wear a bra. How the hell does this make sense and how can I stop it??

I won’t wear a bra at night and will wake up with dry patches on my clothes in the morning. I want to go on a night out and not wear a bra like I’d usually do but how do I do this when my breasts leak?! Any advice will be appreciated thank you

I did breastfeed so not quite the same scenario but mine stopped leaking when my DD was 3/4 months so I would hope you will be quicker than that as you aren’t feeding! It does seem a bit odd it’s happening when surely your milk has dried up, so maybe worth asking a GP?

Take an over the counter decongestant like for colds, that's supposed to dry milk up.

Could be a couple more months before they stop leaking. I had a similar problem as only breast fed for 2 weeks. My bloody nipples were massive and have remained so. I tried not wearing a bra at the time (as my breasts are not huge) but the agitation of the material (cotton T shirts etc) on them was making them erect and making them lactate. It was a bloody nightmare. Im now left with these huge nipples but at least they are dry. But hell they are sooooooo sensitive. Which has its advantages, lol.

The heat probably isn’t helping. I actually don’t know this for a fact and could probably google, but I’m sure the heat makes them leak! (Mine never do but it’s been constant the last few days.)

Thank you guys. I’m gonna mention it to my GP as I was given medication to stop my breast milk coming in with DD as my mastitis was so bad. I’m defo gonna contact them and see if I can get it again. Can’t be dealing with leaky nipples on a night out😂

How many nights out are you going on with a 2m baby!?

(Spectacular missage of point I know)

pedropony76 · 10/07/2022 22:36

@MolliciousIntent I’ve been on one night out and plan to go out in a couple of weeks not that it’s any of your business.

Feel free to search up my username and you’ll see that I have two kids under 15 months old. One that has spent 6 weeks of his life in NICU and I’m a single parent. If I want to go on a night out every week then that’s what I want to do thanks. You’re not the one who has a history of PND struggling with two kids on a day to day basis whilst trying to keep up with your son’s appointment.

Maybe you should keep your shit comments to yourself

I'm so fucking sorry, I didn't mean that to sound shitty at all - I was impressed, not judging, as I was barely capable of putting my shoes on the right feet when my kids were 2m. I shouldn't have said anything at all, I am so sorry, I'm am absolute fucking moron and I didn't consider how it would read without tone of voice.

You sound like a superhero, and I'm really sorry if my stupid comment upset you, it was very poorly judged.
