I've been known to use baking measuring spoons 🤷‍♀️ as long as it's 5ml it doesn't matter

Not so long ago there was no during just a 5ml spoon so it will be fine.

You'll need to pull the stopper pit or it will be a pain to pour. Obviously it makes no difference to the effectiveness of the medicine whether you administer it from a syringe or spoon.

Where did you hear you can't use anything except syringe? Of course you can use a spoon, what do you think people do if they don't have the syringe/it doesn't come with one.

Wow..

Rascalsandradishes · 10/07/2022 18:13

It was only a spoon in my day

Maybe she means you can't get it out without the syringe (or that's what someone told her and she misunderstood) you do need to remove the stopper or it ends up everywhere

In the olden days we didn’t have syringes!

Of course a spoon is ok.

If you have a very young baby you can dribble it in slowly so the spoon doesn’t surprise them, but you have a toddler is that right? If so I assume they use a spoon for other things liked yogurt? and would be happy to put it in their mouth? Job done.

TamSamLam · 10/07/2022 18:40

It only says don't use a spoon because you can't use a regular tea spoon of arbitrary size, a medicine spoon is fine, as is a different medicine syringe, and if necessary a measuring spoon. So long as you're accurately measuring the dose you're fine.
