Newborn heatwave

Those of you with newborns in this weather, are you staying indoors? Or still going out with them but in the shade? My house is equally as boiling as outdoors & feel bad keeping her in all day everyday but don’t want to overheat her

Shes 7 weeks

Some advice here…

90 degrees F is 32 degrees C

I'm staying in during the day with my little. She older at 4 months but I don't want to risk sunburn/heat stroke. We will go out in the evening to get some air and water the allotment

I had a summer born baby last year. I used to go out either early morning or evening as I hated being cooped up. In the end we bought a air con unit as the house was boiling. Think it was around £300 and was really good. Didn't just blow hot air around🤦🏻‍♀️

DD was born in a heatwave. We used to go out early 5 or 6am and again late 10 or 11pm. I hated being stuck indoors.

My DD was born last June and we were in London. We sat in the garden / went for walks in the morning before the sun came round and then spent the rest of the day indoors with an imitation dyson fan running. This year, we bought a gazebo to go over the patio and its made a huge difference. Loads of shade and we've been able to stay out much longer.

DS was born in a heatwave, we still went out but tried to do early morning or late afternoon usually, and stay in the shade.
Forever grateful to the mum who told me that shading the pram with a blanket could make the temperature inside dangerously hot - in my sleepless shell-shocked state it hadn't occurred to me and I was just trying to stop him getting sunburned.
@Mrsmch123 I don't suppose you have a link to the aircon unit you bought? We've been talking about getting one for years as our house is crazily warm in summer.

this one is very similar to ours, they don't seem to sell the exact same one.
honestly was a god send!our baby monitor was showing 32 in the room without it and 19 in the room with it. I have pictures of our baby wrapped in a shawl and being very comfortable while it was sweltering outside😂 We used to use it downstairs during the day and lift it upstairs at night. I would say it's not powerful enough to sufficiently cool and the entire downstairs but definitely the room you are in. You do need to keep the doors closed as well. Everyone used to come to our house to cool down....well that and having a newborn😂
