4yo dd day wetting

Daughter is starting school in September but still wets her knickers frequently.

Potty trained at 2.5yrs. I can tell when she needs to go and is bursting, ask her if she needs to go and she says no. I leave her and she will announce she needs to go at the last minute, by then her pants are wet through.

The other day her pants were soaked and shorts but she continued to play and didn't say anything.

How can I help her before starting school?

Herein the problem lies. Don't leave her. If you know she needs to go then insist she goes and sits on the toilet until she's been.

Set a timer make a routine lots of praise!

hi, does doing this then make her more reliant on me rather than being able to recognise the feeling herself?

But is the problem she is recognising the feeling and ignoring it?

OP my DD, though younger, than yours has just recently had a phase of doing this.

It's a case of making her go to the toilet when myself or any of her other carers thinks she needs to go. She still goes of her own accord and has now gone back to going with out us telling her.

It helps she doesn't like wetting herself and having to change.
