Breastmilk when suffering from Covid- keep or dump?

I've got Covid, although feeling fine in myself now, I just had 2 days of feeling like death. Over those 2 days I went into oversupply. DD was still feeding well (spent a long time on the boob, lots of wet nappies) but I was making far too much. I still felt full after a feed. Once a day after a feed I pumped until my boobs felt empty, as I was worried about clogged ducts/mastitis. I had lumps in my armpits the size of plums and could feel full ducts inside my boobs.

Anyway. Does breastmilk when you have the virus contain the virus plus antibodies, or just antibodies.

I put the extra milk in the freezer, but I'm questioning if this is the right thing to do. If it contains the virus, then once defrosted and used, could it reinfect my daughter (and then me!)

Any help or insights much appreciated. Thank you

I’m no expert but I was told you’d be carrying antibodies and not the virus itself. Please don’t take my word for it, do your own research and speak to a professional. Hope you feel better soon.

Here you go - reassuring! See 1st FAQ. https://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/coronavirus/

Definitely carry on. White blood cells will be passing to the baby through your milk Wink

I believe it will pass on antibodies only.
Try and feed normally if you can otherwise whatever you remove via pump you will make again.
