Loss of interest in solids after covid

We've been doing traditional weaning with a good mix of purees and finger foods with my 9 month old since he turned 6 months. It had been going great, he's a big 98th percentile baby with a big appetite and was happy whether eating from a spoon or feeding himself. Just for a portion size example, if we were to give him a pouch it would have been the 1 year+ size.

Anyway, he had covid around 12 days ago. While he was symptomatic with covid (temp spikes and cough) he still had a great appetite and was eating more or less normally. Since he has recovered he has completely gone off all solids (with the exception of dry cheerios or breadsticks). He will normally take one spoon at each meal but then cry and turn his head away. I'm not pushing him to eat more than he wants. Thankfully, he is still drinking his milk and guzzling down bottles, actually is drinking more milk than ever before - he had 16oz in the space of 2 hours after waking up this morning.

Anyway, I'm not too concerned for now but curious if anyone else has experienced the same with their little ones after covid?

I think I read that covid affects the taste buds so he may just not be liking the taste of some things he used to. I would just keep offering things for him to get used to the taste again.

My friends baby went off her food too.
She eventually got back into the swing of it.
Just offer what you can, long as he's drinking.

My DM had 4 kids and was also a nursery nurse. She always said when kids are ill they revert temporarily, maybe go back to soft food, play with toys for a younger age group, wetting if recently potty trained. It'll be temporary, just give your wee one what they'll take and try not to worry.
