I've got two kids and as a single mum I'm finding it really tough feeding my little ones!

I shop at the co-op, Aldis, Asda and even get to the markets for fruit and veges etc it's absolutely bananas the cost of stuff now !

Have you found it harder to pay for food nowadays? Kids just want stuff all the time and in the summer hols coming up I'm going to struggle.

Even the help we get is nothing

Do you receive UC?

It is really tough. I've switched to own brand everything and meal planning to avoid waste.

What do you mean by 'the help you get is nothing'?

As a single income house with 2 children are you not entitled to any benefits of any kind. Entitled to is a good website to calculate this.

Whilst personally I am now fortunate enough to buy food as both of us earning well, I was in your position and so are people around me. I got into debt just trying to buy food when my son was young

One thing to try and not sure it they have this in your area but we have a food rescue hub which collects food and other items from large supermarkets that is going out of date and you turn up with two carrier bags and they fill them for £5. No fridge items but loads of bread, fruit and vegetables as well as some other items. Everything is freezable and edible. I am in Hertfordshire and they have it here.
I don’t use it as I would feel wrong but I donate regularly towards their costs.
