Overwhelmed with wind

My nearly 13 week old son has had trouble with gas for weeks but after repeatedly being told that things would improve by three months, with that time now having passed I’m feeling incredibly stressed.

He’s agitated during feeds and sometimes stops midway to cry while trumping. His sleep is and always has been dreadful. I can put him down but usually within 5/ 10/ 15/ 20 minutes he’s squirming, trumping, crying and crunching his legs up. He only really has solid sleep when being held so my partner and I are exhausted and currently doing shifts with him at night. He did a five hour stretch recently which we thought was a turning point but we’re lucky if he’ll go 30 minutes now.

I’ve tried over the counter remedies, feeding in an upright position, holding upright for 30+ minutes after feeding, burping, baths, bicycle legs etc. but nothing seems to help. HV is useless and hasn’t really offered any advice or support. The only reason we got his TT diagnosed was by going through someone privately off our own back. The procedure was done today so we’re hopeful for some improvement there. I’ve tried baby massage but he soon cries and tenses up.

I feel at a bit of a loss at what to do to help him and I would appreciate any advice from parents who have experienced something similar and have any tips on what worked for you.

The only thing that worked for my farty DS2 was putting him to sleep on his stomach or side.

On his side was one knee up, recovery position etc so he could break wind as needed.

He much preferred his full stomach so I would crunch his legs up into frog position and let him at it. Tilted the bassinet up so his head was a little upright.

He never slept on his back, the minute he was born he flipped onto his tummy and started rooting for milk.

After 12 weeks he just slept with me int he bed and on his side and was much happier for it. I kept him propped in whatever position he needed with towels/blankets.

Sorry, I know that's not guidance but Breyer for me to do that than be near hallucinating from lack of sleep!
