What happens if you can’t really properly care for your DC?

So as not to drip feed, I’ve sustained an injury. Recovery will probably be long. I’m managing, just about, I can’t say I’m parenting particularly well but I am covering the basics, although very painful for me to do so.

Long term though … what if as always going to be like this? What intervention would there be and what help available?

If you are always going to be limited then I’m guessing you could be classed as disabled? You could be eligible to claim PIP which could help pay for additional help.

a quick Google’s says there is support for disabled parents with children. there are some links for support organisations in the below link that may be able to give you some info to see if there is any help when you have an injury?
www.disability-grants.org/grants-for-disabled-parents.html
And link here for single parents with disabilities that may have some ideas?

if you are struggling now have you thought about googling support groups for your particular injury/accident? Or contacting SS to ask if there is help available? They aren’t going to swoop in and snatch your children, honestly.

It sounds a worrying situation for you, I know I sadly don’t have the type of people in my life who would rally round and be much help. Wishing you a speedy, and hopefully full, recovery Flowers

I think the first question asked by any service would be where is their other parent and can they step up?
