Babywearers - please recommend a sling!

Dd is 13 mths and about 20lbs (not walking yet) she was in a Baby bjorn until recently but is getting a bit big - I want to carry her on my hip ideally - round the house and out and about. We have a hippychick hip seat which she is happy on for short periods but I find my arm aches really quickly and I want something that supports her better and frees up my arm a bit. Thinking ahead ideally it would be a sling that would also do for carrying/feeding a newborn at some point in the future. Also needs to be quick and easy to take on and off.

Would something like a huggababy/baba sling work okay? What do you think of the Freedom ring slings as an alternative (they seem much cheaper especialy the "thrifty" version on ebay). Is padded/unpadded better? Any other alternatives I should consider/any particularly good makes?

Thanks in advance for your help!

ooh - which branch of TK Maxx? I'm not that close to one but my parents are!

Thanks for the comments on the Freedom sling - I guess that's why I liked the look of the Baba one. Will check out the ergo!

Had a look at the ergo online but can't see how you would do a hip carry? Are there any pics anywhere?

Aah - thanks - that looks okay and because of the hip belt might be more comfortable than a carrier where the weight is on your shoulders.

Its very comfortable in a hip carry at that sort of weight, and then you can shift to a back carry for longer periods. I used a ring sling with DS until he was too heavy, and then the Ergo, and have just ordered a ToddlerHawk Mei Tai.
