What's wrong with being objectified?

(Will start a new thread instead of trying to sort 11 words into some coherent form and hope if I don;t email supervisor he will just go away and forget I bothered him with all this overambitious nonsense)

Pour Barbie ou non à la Barbie?

Rhubarb · 16/01/2008 21:48

N'importé quoi.

pointydog · 16/01/2008 21:50

I think get her a Barbie, natch

pointydog · 16/01/2008 21:53

lol @ suebaroo's Victorian stiff-upper-lip Puppen dolls. Sehr gut die deutschen Puppen, nicht wahr?

onebatmother · 16/01/2008 21:58

Sue have to admit am finding even the word 'puppen' a bit freaky. 'poopphen'.

Monkeytrousers · 16/01/2008 21:58

Non, non really

onebatmother · 16/01/2008 21:58

namportay?

Rhubarb · 16/01/2008 22:01

poupée

onebatmother · 16/01/2008 22:07

yup. poupay (impressed by your accents) is also freakyword.

Rhubarb · 16/01/2008 22:10

As in "ma poupée est comme un gros caca"

onebatmother · 16/01/2008 22:12

lol!
mon gros caca n'est pas du tout comme poupee.

Rhubarb · 16/01/2008 22:13

mon caca s'appelle Hanky, le caca Noël

onebatmother · 16/01/2008 22:18

!Ouaw! Votre caca est vraiment .. 'cool'.

Rhubarb · 16/01/2008 22:20

Merci!

nelliesmum · 16/01/2008 22:33

My 4-year-old has a Barbie she calls "Gordon Warden", I think she will survive a little Barbie, my attitude to my own body is probably the most telling thing. (I'll admit to being on a diet, but there is no way she knows about it..does that make me a hypocrite I wonder?)

onebatmother · 16/01/2008 22:38

lol at Gordon Warden!
Reminds me of Father Ted Mrs whatsername and 'is it Father..Finlay McKinlay?"
All dd's toys have her own name.. it's surprisingly unconfusing, considering.

Umlellala · 16/01/2008 22:42

My little sister called all her teddy bears 'Toby', Toby 1, Toby 2, Toby 3...

normajean · 16/01/2008 22:48

I'm beginning to think that some of us believe that to be taken seriously we have to be bloody ugly, hairy, man hating bra burning celibate Barbie burning maniacs. I played with Barbie, my dd loves her dolls and i really cant see what the problem is!! Barbie Rules!

onebatmother · 16/01/2008 22:54

are you really normajean?

normajean · 16/01/2008 23:13

yeah! it was all a conspiracy, i just needed time off(wink)

carmenelectra · 17/01/2008 11:03

True, norma!

Im very girly, love girly things, doing my nails, my hair etc and if/when had/have a daughter id do the same and let her have Barbies! Im not a bloke, dont want to be or act like a bloke, doesnt mean im a bloomin' airhead . Doesnt mean im a pornstar or obsessed with my weight.

Does being a feminist mean you have to act like a geezer and not let kids play with 'gender specific' toys?
